My mother is a painter and my father has a degree in mathematics. I’ve have become a product of both of their passions. A perfect blend of technical skill and creativity.
I grew up surfing around New Jersey. Traveling when time and money permitted. Indo, Mexico, Central America and every east coasters go too the Caribbean. My parents were avid skiers, and my mom had me on skis at 3 years old. Pine Hill, New Jersey. There was a time period in my twenties when the mountains called me back, and I spent 5 years snowboarding and partying in Colorado.
I finally came back to Jersey, found my way back to the ocean, and shaping boards again. I was shaping for friends and myself every once in a while an actual paying customer. I got itchy again and decided to embark on another journey for some education. Computer animation. Before I left I was at a bar and met the girl of my dreams. She had just moved back from Florida the exact state where I was moving to pursue my technological dreams. After 14 grueling months of non stop designing and mouse clicks I finally graduated. Yippee! No jobs. So back to Jersey to my dream girl, who is now my dream wife.
Went to work for my family business, but the creative void remained. Started shaping boards again. Working full time and hand shaping was becoming extremely difficult, especially when you have OCD. Found some machine guys in Florida. I started designing and ordering my cuts from them, but I was always waiting for the boards. After a year of looking on the internet I finally found an affordable machine. 357 Surfboards was in motion.
Now a house, 2 kids, a golden retriever and a thousand or so boards later. I’m still holding it together, and making the best boards I can. Hope I can make one for you.
